We create individual education plans, depending on the individual needs of students. We don’t want one student to hold another down. At the same time, we are encouraging each student to be their personal best, and set personal goals. We are constantly striving within a classroom setting to establish a classroom community, teaching the social norms of working together for the good of all, We encourage collaborative group work and interdependence upon one another for sharing of ideas. It is obvious within the school setting that “individualism and collectivism exist on a continuum” (p.
